British 19-year-old Jourdan Dunn is not visibly pregnant in the picture alongside fellow model Chanel Iman but reveals in an interview inside the magazine that she is expecting a baby in December. Teen Vogue’s editor-in-chief,Iman Amy Astley, said the magazine did not find out about Dunn’s pregnancy until after the photo shoot but that editors had not considered pulling the cover when they did.

“Teen pregnancy is a difficult, real-life issue that Teen Iman Vogue readers (with an average age of 18) are mature enough to be exposed to,” Astley said in a statement. “Teen Vogue felt it was important to support, not punish, Jourdan Dunn, who contributed to a beautiful photo shoot and who will surely have an ongoing and successful career in fashion.”

In her interview, Dunn spoke about how she reacted after learning of her unplanned pregnancy. “All I could think about casual shoes was what my mom was going to say, my agency, my boyfriend,” she said. “When I told my mom, she started crying and blaming herself. She got pregnant with me at the same age, and she said, ‘I don’t want you to have to go through what I did’.”

Some advocates said the Teen Vogue cover should be used as an opportunity to warn about the problems associated with fashion dresses teenage pregnancies. “Teen parenting isn’t glamorous, even if you are a teen model,” Valerie Huber, the executive director of the National Abstinence Education Association, told the Associated Press.

Former Terminator fembot Summer Glau joins Joss Wheodn’s Dollhouse on Oct. 30 for a recurring stint as Bennett, a programmer who shares a past with Eliza Dushku’s Echo. During last week’s episode of Dollhouse, the network hyped Glau’s upcoming appearance with a special promo promising, “In three weeks, Sumer Glau joins the cast of Dollhouse!” I could be wrong, but it seemed like Fox was banking on Glau’s star power to get more people to watch the show. Sadly, I don’t think that’s gonna happen.

I love Summer Glau. I was a big fan of TSCC and Firefly, and I’m eagerly anticipating her appearance on Dollhouse. I’m sure Whedon has crafted an interesting character for Glau, and I’m sure she’ll be part of a compelling arc that will fold nicely into the Dollhouse mythology.

But I doubt she’ll be able to new fashion attract a ton of new viewers. Glau couldn’t save her own show, and Dollhouse isn’t exactly designed to be a hit.

The show works best when it’s diving head-first into its complicated mythology (”Epitaph One”) and when it’s exploring the troubling implications of the model jobs Dollhouse itself – in this world, the rich and powerful can have dominion over people’s bodies and minds while grabbing at their soul. It’s definitely not easily digestible TV comfort food like NCIS or Dancing with the Stars, two of the highest-rated shows on the air.

Twenty five years after they first launched underwear as outerwear, the designers at start modeling Dolce & Gabbana staged a magnificent tribute to that most saucy item in a woman’s wardrobe, at Milan Fashion Week, yesterday (Sunday) “Because it’s feminine and sexy,” said one half of the design duo, Stefano Gabbana, backstage, after the show.

The collection, in fact, hailed The Corset as the one start modeling single piece of must-have-clothing for next spring/summer. The Dolce & Gabbana corset appeared in rose prints, black lace, denim, leopard-spots and multi-coloured florals. It was bedecked with lace, fringing, embroidery and beads; accessorised with bucket-loads of gilt jewellery; and worn with high-heeled tulle and lace ankle-boots.

The corset’s fashion comeback was cheered on by a battalion of Brit ‘It’ girls, in the fashion world front row, including Peaches Geldof, Alice Dellal, the teenage daughters of singer, Annie Lennox, Tali and Lola, and the model, Daisy Lowe, who, appropriately, was wearing a pair of red and black, leopard-print Dolce & Gabbana knickers.

Bollywood Actress Oluchi Onweagba Fashion Trends

You wanna be on top? Well, you better crouch down — it’s shortie season, PopWatchers, and time for episode 3: “Fortress of Fierceness.” I miss when they called the fashion trends episodes “The Girl who [did something interesting],” and honestly, this name is way off base for the episode. How about “Smize Matters”? Anyway, let’s get down to biznaz!

Bianca reminded us that she landed in the bottom two last week “not because of [her] performance, because of [her] mouth,” which is the only moment of decent self-awareness we got from her all night. Rachel told us she’s a Wal-Mart cashier, and my fashion trends heart beat a special beat for Walgreen’s cashier Shandi for a hot minute. Miss you. Also, show, stop showing us the video where Courtney breaks her foot! Gaaah. (Spoiler: They’re going to stop showing it.)

Courtney decided to “push herself” by not wearing her injury-protecting boot anymore, and let me just take a second to fitness models tell all you recap-readers out there in Internetland: This is unwise. Take it from a girl with a long history of ridiculous clumsiness and absurd accidents that require trips to orthopedists: This is not pushing yourself or proving anything. Immobilize, immobilize, immobilize. That’s how it heals! Lecture over, and yes, there will be a quiz.

Anyway, the girls met Sean Patterson of Wilhemina bollywood actress modeling agency. He and Nigel asked the girls one by one to make a good impression, and uh, some of the them did okay I guess? Has no one been on a job interview, ladies? Jennifer told us she has ptosis, which causes her left eyelid to droop, and which Nigel and Sean misidentified as a lazy eye. Poor Rachel completely tanked, and Sundai remained 5′3”.

Then, shocker! Seriously, shocka-khan! One bollywood actress girl got cut right then and there, and the unlucky lady was Ole Bambi eyes. I’m very sad to see Rachel get the bounce so early, mostly because she seemed like a peach. Catch you on the flip side, Rachel.

The women then headed to a “photo shoot,” where some poor schlub had to act like a mean Oluchi Onweagba photographer for five seconds until Tyra showed up and did this bizarre act dressed as a superhero. Then everyone said “smeyes” 900 times, which means, duh, smile with your eyes. I simply cannot abide by Tyra’s spelling of it, though, “smize.” Where would that Z come from? (Satan.) I’m going with “smeyes,” y’all.

This is where I really started worrying about the camp factor of this season. I’ve seen less campy Oluchi Onweagba drag shows, and more earnest reenacted performances of Rocky Horror Picture Show. The worst part was that all the women went along with it, telling the camera that “Super Smeyes” did such-and-such. Pssst, you guys, it’s just Tyra, being a lunatic!

Free Models Connect Mature Models Agency

I was just cruising by Ecorazzi, looking for the post on how the No Impact Man story may soon be getting a treatment as a fictional models connect feature film (in addition to the documentary that is already finished). Thanks to Remy C. for the tip by the way. I’ll have a better idea on whether we need a No Impact Man feature after I see the doc this Tuesday. In the meantime, I enjoyed stumbling across this gem about “Julia Stiles Styles.”

Julia Stiles is about my age, and I’ve long admired her models connect work, as well as her spunky style. I was bummed that I never saw her on the Columbia University campus when I was there for journalism, but I think she might have graduated before I started (friends tell me they saw her around the upper west side all the time). I knew Stiles had a progressive bent and has lent her celeb power and time to various important causes. But this new project is particularly interesting, because it seems to combine parody with message.

Not everyone has been always on board with the idea of “green mature models fashion,” with quite a few detractors bemoaning that it can be expensive, and that it invariably promotes consumption, when saving resources is seen as the most eco-virtuous. In fact, even as Carl Pope was at a recent New York Fashion Week to promote the industry going greener, his keynote address at the BeEco Chic show included some daggers against fashion, and a generally patronizing tone.

Of course, for those who do boost green model agency fashion, they argue that design has a powerful transformative force in our culture that goes far beyond mere shopping. It can inspire and shape our worldviews, bringing a better aesthetic and motivating change.

Julia Stiles and friends skewer the concept in their recent interior design project, which features such unlikely outfits as a nice suit made from newsprint — “People say the newspaper industry is dying, but I say it’s living. Living on your body,” Stiles deadpanned. There’s also the awesome shants, turning a shirt into pants, allegedly inspired by a homeless man, as well as the shirt made from 10 vintage shirts.

As Ecorazzi points out, the mature models rocks a “blue steel” Zoolander look, and the overall affect is a parody not unlike the film’s “Derelict” collection, again based on the homeless. (Reminds me of that line from a Daria episode, in which one of the characters argues for sprucing up the wardrobes of the local poor: “Just because they’re homeless doesn’t mean they have to be unfashionable,” she says.

No word on whether Julia Stiles Styles has anything to do with the reportedly upcoming Zoolander 2, although it doesn’t seem like the actress is attached.

The Julia Stiles Styles model agency website suggests donating to The Lunchbox Fund, which helps feed poor children in Africa. (Hopefully not from these 10 worst lunchboxes of all time.) It’s cool that Stiles is taking advantage of her fashion-ready name to make a difference.

The cover boasts the sort of mass appeal articles – “Stylish Steals and Smart Splurges” and “Fall Fashion Fun” – that have previously been anathema to the unapologetically actress elitist Miss Wintour during her two-decade reign.

Conde Nast, the publishing powerhouse that includes Vogue, Vanity Fair and The New Yorker actress among its stable of magazine heavyweights, has deployed the management consultants McKinsey & Co to conduct a root-and-branch review of operations in its swanky Times Square headquarters.

The company has already axed receptionists, slashed the deliveries of fresh flowers that would clog the elevators each mature women morning and drastically cut back expense accounts – including the old practice of taking an advertising client for a manicure or pedicure.

There is little doubt that McKinsey will recommend much deeper cuts and job losses, although the New York Post reported on Friday that for the French fashion party shows, Miss Wintour will be staying at the Ritz in Paris as usual, with little expense spared for her entourage.

With less than three weeks before the start of New York Fashion Week, the model agency in the world fashion industry capital is grim. The event was once synonymous with extravagance, excess and self-congratulation, but now insiders are focused on simple commercial survival.

So the release of The September Issue, with its reminder of a now apparently halcyon epoch, so recent yet so remote, is providing some much-needed relief for the model agency industry. It might also offer some valuable ammunition for the bean-counters of McKinsey.

In one of the more memorable exchanges, the veteran creative director Grace Coddington laments that her boss has just discarded pictures from a photo shoot that cost $50,000.

“It was just me mouthing off, expressing my frustration,” Miss Coddington said before the premiere. “It was just so wasteful, throwing it away. Of course, if the work’s not good, it should be thrown out. That’s called editing. But I thought this was good.”

The September Issue begins with Miss Wintour looking into the mature women camera and pronouncing: “There is something about fashion that can make people very nervous.” As we see repeatedly during the 88-minute documentary, she can also make people very nervous too.

The chief designer for Yves Saint Laurent is left gibbering and gesturing desperately as she makes clear she is not impressed by his collection; a staff member looks close to tears when she derides her lack of originality; another fidgets nervously as she asks despairingly: “Where is the glamour? It’s Vogue, okay?”
